“Together, we can turn stewardship into hope, and transform hope into meaningful action”
-John Gitlin
Eden Sky Ranch is committed to restoring native grasslands through regenerative bison grazing and fighting rural hunger. With support from Social Impact Grants, we are expanding conservation efforts, helping to regenerate the bison population, advancing food justice, and promoting rural economic growth—while training the next generation of agricultural stewards to support biodiversity through sustainable ranching practices.

Fencepost Founder
Supports our Bison and Grasslands Conservation Intiative. Funding goes directly to three main category’s:
Workforce Development
Fighting Rural Hunger
Native Grassland Restoration
—all using bison as the central force for ecological regeneration, food security, and rural resilience.
As a Fencepost Founder, you lay the groundwork for lasting impact. Your support anchors our Bison and Grasslands Conservation Initiative
—fueling workforce development, rural food justice, and native grassland restoration.Like a fencepost on the open range, your contribution provides structure, direction, and the stability needed to grow a regenerative future where bison, land, and community thrive together.

Band of Hands
Supports our Inspiring Stewarts Intiative. Funding goes directly to the heart of our Living Lab 1- year expereince:
Bison-ology —a deep dive into the science, culture, and stewardship of bison. In this course, students will explore how bison shape ecosystems, restore landscapes, and feed communities. Through hands-on lessons and real-world observation, participants will learn everything from animal behavior and veterinary basics to native grazing systems, humane harvesting, and ecological monitoring.
By the end of the course, students won’t just understand the bison—they’ll understand how to live and work in balance with the land.
Eden Sky Ranch works to empower young people interested in ranching through STEM education and business diversification, preserving this way of life for future generations.

Wind Walkers
Supports a unique 1- week course called Wind Whispering—students are invited into a sacred conversation spoken through their nervous system.
Wind Whispering—one spoken not in words, but in breath, body, and stillness. This course is an immersive journey into the subtle, intuitive world of equine connection, where communication begins with presence and deepens into partnership.
Participants will learn the foundations of equine speak—the body language, energetic cues, and emotional attunement that horses use to communicate. Through guided somatic practices, students will explore the principles of equine-assisted therapy, participate in individual and group meditations with the herd, and discover how to both offer and receive healing touch.
Eden Sky Ranch Foundation
Indirect Cost (Overhead) Policy
Eden Sky Ranch Foundation is committed to responsible stewardship of charitable resources and to directing the greatest possible share of funding toward mission-driven, on-the-ground impact. Our work centers on regenerative ranching, land restoration, ecological education, and community resilience, and we believe financial transparency and restraint are essential to maintaining trust and effectiveness.
Indirect Cost Philosophy
Indirect costs—also referred to as overhead—include shared administrative and operational expenses that support our programs but are not directly attributable to a single project. These may include general administration, financial management, compliance, and organizational infrastructure necessary to sustain our charitable activities.
While we recognize the importance of sound administrative support, Eden Sky Ranch Foundation intentionally maintains a conservative indirect cost structure in order to prioritize direct investment in land stewardship, animal welfare, research, education, and community engagement.
Indirect Cost Cap
As a matter of policy, Eden Sky Ranch Foundation caps allowable indirect costs at no more than 10% of total project or program budgets for grants, contracts, and collaborative research or demonstration projects, unless otherwise negotiated or required by a funding entity.
This cap applies to:
Research partnerships
Educational and demonstration projects
Conservation and land stewardship initiatives
Collaborative programs with universities, nonprofits, or public entities
Exceptions and Transparency
In limited cases where funder requirements or project complexity necessitate a different indirect cost structure, any deviation from this policy will be:
Clearly documented
Fully disclosed to partners and funders
Approved by organizational leadership
Eden Sky Ranch Foundation is committed to transparency in budgeting, reporting, and financial management, and to aligning all expenditures with our charitable purpose and values.
Commitment to Mission Alignment
By maintaining a disciplined approach to indirect costs, Eden Sky Ranch Foundation seeks to:
Maximize ecological and educational impact
Support ethical and regenerative land use
Encourage trust-based partnerships
Model financial practices aligned with long-term sustainability
This policy reflects our belief that effective stewardship—of land, animals, people, and resources—begins with intentional choices at every level of our organization.
